abiroji CD Release party…TOMORROW!

The abiroji CD release party is tomorrow night at Okinawa Cyber-box in Naha. If you are on island, I hope you’ll come out (directions and details are on the abiroji live schedule page).

Okinawa Cyber-box is a new live house, it’s the replacement for Junk Takasago - same guys and staff, new location. This is its opening weekend. We went out there Wed. night to soundcheck and practice, and also to take a look at the new club.

They were still working hard on getting the place ready, mostly putting up lights and some minor carpentry. The stage is all up (with scaffolding!) and there is an upstairs area with seating. I think the downstairs is standing room only, and maybe some benches against the back wall.

It’s a much smaller club than Junk Takasago was, but that’s not really much of a surprise because Junk Takasago was huge - too big actually for most of the events; they usually had about half the main room blocked off for the bands and staff with plenty of room left over. Even so, I think Cyber-box might be a little on the small side (the stage certainly is), but I will withhold judgment until we see what happens tomorrow night.

Well, I’m excited at least we’ve got lots of good bands playing with us, and I hope to see you out there!

You have done a nice job making this site and keeping it up to date.
I was wondering if you could help me out. I use the same download section as you do, olate, but I can’t seem to get the download working like you do, it only streams, it doesn’t ask me to safe the file like you have managed to do. I would appreciate the help.

    Best of wishes Blue

    Blue tears,

To be honest with you, I haven’t messed with Olate for quite awhile - I tweaked it a bit when I first installed it, and then once again when I was trying to get a more uniform look on the site.

As far as I know, I didn’t change anything related to the downloading of files. The only thing I can think of based on your message is you say that you are getting “streams”. But, the types of files I have up for downloads (.zips and .pdfs, mainly) aren’t going to stream — it’s usually only media file types (like .mp3s and what not) that stream.

So, just based on that, I would think that you are looking at a browser/file type issue and not an Olate-specific issue. Perhaps if you .zipped up your files you could avoid the “streaming” issue?

    Jason

First of all thank you for replying me here, I know this isn’t the right place for me to ask. I’ve managed to work things out using php and .htaccess combination.

Thank you for the advice and the willingness to reply.

I wish u the very best

    Blue Tears
