abiroji news…

We are putting the final touches on the songs, which means all the recording is done, and it’s basically just mixing. There have been one or two cases where some minor additional parts were recording - like a short acoustic guitar part for background, or some chorus vocal stuff, but I don’t expect anymore of that, either.

Still, we are way behind schedule, and I’m not sure if the remainder of the process can be sped up to meet the original timeline. We will just have to see.

In other abiroji news, we start back on our regular practicing tommorrow - and we have a new live show scheduled, “Dragon Nite” on 6/9. As always, live info is up on the abiroji live schedule page.

    Jason,

You might not remember me but I was in the Japanese 114 with you. When your new CD comes out where can I get a copy of it?

Good luck with your CD. I’ve really enjoyed the other CD I picked up at Seventh Heaven.

Samurai is really growing on me and I think it is my favorite.

    Joshua,

I’ll try to keep posting news up on the CD on this site. I would expect the CD to be for sale in local record shops and at shows. We are oh-so-tentatively looking at around the end of Aug. for a release date. (I wouldn’t be surprised if this slipped a month or two, though.)

I’m glad you like the CD! We re-did one song off that for the new CD, but I won’t say which one at this time…I like “Samurai” a lot too, we never play it live though. I don’t know why.

That song actually came from a band called “Bamital Zama”.

Bamital Zama shared several members with Zero Sen, it was like a side project sort of thing: same singer, the wood bass player from Zero Sen played percussion for Bamital Zama, same drummer and guitarist. For a while, both bands played a lot of shoes together, but eventually they just merged into one big band and kept the Zero Sen name. (Obviously, this was long before I was in the band!)

There was another Bamital Zama song that kicked ass, but I don’t the name of it…I did ask Yasu (singer) about doing it again, but nothing ever came of it. Maybe I’ll ask again.
