Saw Lord Of War today, based on a recommendation. This means I really didn’t have any expectations going in.

This was actually a good movie, if a little bit heavy. It’s all about Nick Cage being this totally amoral arms dealer. He gets into some tight spots, and eventually loses everything (worthwhile), but keeps on running guns.

There’s a strong anti-war/anti-gun message, but the movie is so straight forward, it didn’t strike me as being preachy. I probably would not have watched this if someone didn’t tell me to, but I don’t think it was time wasted. However, it’s not enjoyable enough for me to recommend - I just like to enjoy movies more - this was too depressing to be enjoyable for me.
