If Chins Could Kill…

If Chins Could Kill : Confessions of a B Movie ActorI just got done reading Bruce Campbell’s very interesting autobiography/Hollywood story If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor. I’m a fan of the Evil Dead series, but I never watched much Hercules or Xena.

This is a good book - it is interesting and funny; a great Sunday afternoon (or two) read. There’s lots of cool background stories about growing up and making movies, but I think the note that struck the loudest to me was that of childhood friends going on to professional success together. That’s a compelling idea, that the dreams and games of young boys can be turned into a livelihood of grown men. Doing what you like and getting paid to do it is one of the highest forms of success I can think of.

Anyway, for some reason I’ve ordered a few autobiographical books of late, this is the first I’ve read (ARNOLD : THE EDUCATION OF A BODYBUILDER is next). This is something new to me, although I read a lot, I’ve never really thought much about biographies. Last time I was home, my dad gave me Sam Walton : Made In America to read, which might have started me down this road.

In any case, if you are interested in a humorous look at a “working class Hollywood star”, let me recommend this book!
