We watched Kung Fu Hustle today - this move rocks hard - watch it!

It’s kinda like a Kung Fu version of Army of Darkness, because it has cool over-the-top action, slapstick humor, references to other films, and, although it’s obviously not too serious about itself, it still sets up a good story and puts a lot of effort into immersing you in the story. It has cool characters and great visual effects, many of which are way beyond reality over into cartoon-land, but it still works in the context of the story.

What rocked so hard about this movie is that it was much better than I expected - I was hoping for maybe 1 or 2 good action scenes and a little bit of comedy, but instead I got a movie with a lot of comedy and a half-dozen cool ass fight scenes.

This is from the same guy who did Shaolin Soccer, which I haven’t seen - but I will certainly check it out now based on this film.
