SOAD Shirt

When I was back in the States, I saw System of A Down live, and got myself a cool little baseball jersey-type of shirt. I also got another cool t-shirt that I wanted to give to someone in the band. (I can’t afford to buy shirts for everyone!)

I wasn’t sure how to do it, until TamiTam gave me the idea that everyone play Jaikenpon for it, which is basically Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Of course, I didn’t tell them what was going on. So, during a break in practice, I asked everyone to gather round and play Jaikenpon. In the first round, 3 people threw rock and 3 threw scissors, so that left 3 people. Next, 2 people threw paper, and Mamaru threw scissors to win.

Then, everyone was wondering why they had played, and I turned around to open up my guitar bag and said “Well, you know, I went to the System of a Down show…”. Then everyone was like “Noooo!”, except of course Mamaru who had a super big grin!

It was pretty cool, and pumped everyone up a little bit. We had a pretty kickin’ practice, and worked out some smooth between song transitions. There’s only one more scheduled practice (Thursday) before Fukuoka, and I hope we can put a little more polish on - it’s been a long time since we’ve played out and I want to have a great show!
