My Hot Amp Case

OpenWe had practice last night, so I finally got my chance to try out the new flight case I got back in San Diego.

At first, it didn’t seem like the head would fit, because when I tried to slip the cover back on, it didn’t seem to want to go down. So, I tried to set the head down in a different way - with the back down, rather than the bottom down.

This was a stupid idea, because I got the top slightly stuck - and ended up tearing the foam when removing the top after realizing this was obviously not the right thing to do.

I put it back the right way, and all was well.

Closed I’m pretty happy with this case, although I haven’t put it to the flying test yet - that will be on the 29th this month, when we head up to Fukuoka for the big event.

It seems to be solidly made, all the hardware feels tight and crisp, and once my dumbass figured out the right way to put the amp in and how “tight” it should be, it is a snug fit with the head.

The case was built by Left Coast Customized Cases in San Diego. Neal was the guy there, and he was very helpful throughout the entire process. Even though I ended up with a very basic case, we went through a few ideas and I was glad to have expert input and opinion to help me make a decision. Also, when I went to pick up my case, there was another guy there picking up a case and a floorboard/case that was pretty sweet.
