The news is all over the place now, but the Family Guy Movie, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story!, has been leaked onto the various internets 2 months before the release.

It’s great quality, too - a DVD rip from a screener, I think.

I guess the deal is that this was a 3-part episode that they decided to send to DVD release? There are diffferent writers credited for parts I,II, and III, and there’s “movie premiere wrapper” footage before and after the “main feature”. It’s apparently unrated, but there’s not much profanity until near the very end where once character (not a usual Family Guy character) says “Fuck” an awful lot. This actually was more jarring to me that “normal” profanity, say like in the most excellent Deadwood, renowned for its vulgarity. I guess it was just because it seemed so out of place, like it was thrown in there just because it could be or something.

There was a brief moment of zen, when an early joke about “pirating” a cam copy version of the film was made. (Tanget here: why do theaters put up a sign that camera phones are not allowed? First off, in Japan at least, I don’t know if you can get a phone that does not have a camera. Second, can a camera record 1.5 hours of video footage? Third, who the hell would want to watch the craptacular results? Truly idiotic.)
