We did just a little bit of recording last night. Mamaru wrote a song, “King Gorilla” and it looks like that one is being moved up in the queue to work on.

When he first brought it in for us to listen to, it was on cassette tape - he had recorded it at home on an old 4-track jobber with a drum machine. Last night, we just moved the basic tracks into ProTools to record better guitars and bass.

Tommorrow, we will rehearse the song a little, and begin fleshing it out. Mamaru says he wants some “doo-da-lee-doo” in there, which is what I usually call my soloing (such as it is), so we will see how that works out. The song has a very strong surfing vibe, but I don’t know if I can do the heavy-reverb-Fender-twin thing…again, something to see how it turns out.
