I started my second class in Japanese last night (JAPN 112), and my enthusiasm still runs high. After long years of relying on the kindness of others to bear with my non-existant language skillz, I am now able to make simple sentences! w00t!

Anyway, a couple of tools that I have found helpful:
DreamKana - A simple hiragana/katakana “flash card” program for Windows.
KanjiSharp - A more complex flash card / vocabulary drill program that is still under development (?). Looks nice so far.

For the superior browser, there is the handy Moji extension.
