Ashlee Simpson on SNL

From David Hooper’s blog:

A pop artist lip-synching? Nothing interesting there, they all do - it’s not like actual talent or musical ability is a requirement.

Now a pop artist so badly out of sync on live TV that they leave the stage in shame? Much more interesting!

Here’s to major label talent!

It is about time the Rock Gods and Goddesses in Heaven; put an end to this thing we call music!!!
    To expose this was awesome!!!
Shame on you Ashlee to think that NOT singing is ok to your fans; what kind of artist are you, oh yeah your not.
No wonder we have an entire generation stealing songs if the songs and artists were worth their salt, and perfomr live as they do in the studio and we put the talent back in music, I for one think the fans would actually take the time to BUY it.
So karma is such an awesome thing, Janis Joplin and every other kick ass rock God and Godess in Heaven was celebrating that night!!!!
You cant keep cheating your fans and getting away with it.

What about SNL….they (The Producer), someone, must have known she was going to do it. Isn’t it called Saturday Night “Live”. What about her record label…aren’t they at least in part responsible for creating a fraud. This is nothing less than fraud..it isn’t to strong a word for what “Ashlee” did on national TV. I heard a news anchor try and justify the lip-syncing….basically saying that singing on National TV is difficult. Yes, it is difficult. We are supposed to admire the people that can do it, becuase it is difficult. Like great basketball players that can jump high, or runners that are gifted to run fast. Has it all hit rock bottom yet….NO…because I bet she’ll keep selling records. I feel sorry this music generation..and the Last! They are getting ripped off. I had Zeppelin…they have Creed. Oops..Creed could actually play! What a disgrace. SNL, Ashlee, and her record label she be boycotted until: Ashlee admits she’s a liar, SNL gives the money back to their advertisers and aplogizes for being a conconpirator to fraud, and her record label gives back the money to everyone that bought one of her CDs. Lastly, Ashlee should never record a CD again, and never perform live again. It really is the right thing to do. Let real artists have a shot at the limited access to opportunites like TV, record store shelves, etc.

    Give art a chance.

Lemme tell ya - that SNL “performance” was one of the happiest moments that I can remember enjoying in a long time. I was laffin’ my ass off. If this broad had any sense (which she obviously doesn’t), NOW would be her opportunity to hang it the hell up. And let all the other wannabe - or worse - THINK-they-are “artists” take a look and take a lesson from this. Oh - and P.S. - I hope the members of her band all get together and kick Simpson’s ass for blaming THEM for her stupid mess that she has the audacity to call “music”.
    Rock on.

I think everyone is being really hard on Ashlee because it wasn’t her fault she lost her voice. I would like to see the press sing that song when they’ve lost there voice or anyone for that matter. Everyone should just leave her alone.

I think that Ashlee is a fantastic person because even though she lost her voice she was still prepared to perform for her fans. It doesn’t matter if she sang or not because it wasnt her fault and everyone would know that if they watched the Ashlee Simpson show on MTV. This reveals the truth.

It’s so cute that you think that.
