Hello, I’m Jason and this is my about page. I’m an American living in Okinawa, Japan and have been living here since I got out of the Army back in 1999. My wife, Tamiko, is Okinawan, so that’s why I stayed over here. She has a blog, too.

I play guitar in a band and sometimes work on The Scalculator to help other musicians.

The name of this site comes from a band I was in once; a very free translation to English would be “midnight”. ushimitsudoki is when the ghosts come out, right around 2′oclock in the a.m. - when someone who wants to curse you puts candles on thier head and goes into the woods to nail a straw doll to a tree.
